Signing Ceremony of Key Infrastructure Strategic Cooperation Projects Held by the People’s Government of Jiangning District, BEWG and Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd. at the Jiangning Convention and Exhibition Center, Nanjing 2020-03-13

Nanjing is the “first stop” for the Yangtze River to enter Jiangsu Province, and Jiangning District is the “first stop” for the Mother River to enter the ancient capital of Jinling. Under the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s fundamental cure for “focusing on large-scale protection rather than large-scale development” along the Yangtze River, the Jiangning District Party Committee and Government of Nanjing City launched the ecological defense battle for the first stop for the Yangtze River to enter Jiangsu Province.
 
On the morning of March 12th, the signing ceremony of key infrastructure strategic cooperation projects was held by the People’s Government of Jiangning District, BEWG and Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd. at the Jiangning Convention and Exhibition Center, Nanjing.

 Li Shigui, member of the Standing Committee of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Jiangning District Party Committee, Yan Yingjun, governor of Jiangning District, Nanjing, Kuai Xuguang, deputy director of Nanjing Development and Reform Commission, Yu Maogao, executive deputy head of district of Jiangning District, Nanjing, Wang Shiping, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of the Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd., Li Wei, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager, Cao Zheng, head of the Yangtze River Delta Region and general manager of the Three Gorges Beikong Nanjing Water Investment Co., Ltd.,  Zhou Xuhui, deputy general manager of the Eastern Region of BEWG, Zhi Haiwei, general manager of the Three Gorges Beikong Nanjing Water Co., Ltd., Wang Wei, deputy general manager of the Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and relevant personnel attended the signing ceremony.

Before the signing ceremony, the three parties held a friendly symposium. At the symposium, the three parties jointly expressed that they will further implement the guiding ideology of the ecological civilization of General Secretary Xi Jinping “to jointly protect the Yangtze River together”, and stand at the height of insisting on the “four consciousnesses” and achieve the “two maintenances” to fully assist the Jiangning District Government to win the battle of defending clear water and facilitate local high-quality development. Next, to implement the Yangtze River protection strategy, the three parties will focus on deepening cooperation in the top-level planning of Jiangning water environment governance, sewage treatment plant and supporting pipeline network construction, etc. to  make every effort to promote full collection, full treatment, and qualified treatment of Jiangning urban sewage, and promote fundamental improvement of urban water environment quality to effectively enhance the level of ecological civilization construction.  The People’s Government of Jiangning District singed a cooperation framework agreement with BEWG and Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd. In 2020, the three parties will invest about 1.5 billion yuan for cooperation on construction and operation to promote market-oriented operation of approximately 5 billion yuan in ecological and environmental protection assets of Nanjing Jiangning Environment Group Co., Ltd.
 
 The signing of this cooperation agreement has kicked off a new prelude for close ties and common development of the three parties, and it is of vital strategic significance to promote the long-term planning of the three parties. Jiangning District has 19.08 kilometers of the riverbank of the Yangtze River. Under the requirements of the Yangtze River Economic Belt for “focusing on large-scale protection rather than large-scale development”, the ecological and environmental protection of the Yangtze River is particularly important. BEWG and Three Gorges Beikong Nanjing Dual Platform Company will take this singing of agreement as an opportunity to further intensify the cooperation with the People’s Government of Jiangning District, keep up with the pace of economic development in Jiangning District under the support and leadership of Jiangning District Committee and the District Government, and seriously perform their duties and fulfill their responsibilities based on the principles of “complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win, common development, shared risk” to jointly plan a new chapter of long-term cooperation and development, and go all out to protect the “first stop” for the Yangtze River to enter Jiangsu Province.
