    “School-enterprise cooperation for sharing and co-construction”——Technology Research Center for Coastal Ecological Restoration and Protection was Officially Opened at Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. 2020-01-06

    Recently, the signing ceremony of cooperation between Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. under BEWG and the National Engineering Research Center for of Water Resources Efficient Utilization and Engineering Safety and the opening ceremony of the Technology Research Center for Coastal Ecological Restoration and Protection were successfully held at Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd.

    Jiang Xinhao, deputy general manager of Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited and executive director of BEWG, Zheng Jinhai, vice president of Hohai University, Xia Wenlin, secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., Chen Da, executive deputy director of the National Engineering Research Center for of Water Resources Efficient Utilization and Engineering Safety, Tao Aifeng, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education for Coastal Disaster and Protection,  experts and leaders of the water conservancy departments of Jiangsu Province, Cui Jie, deputy general manager of the Eastern Region of BEWG, Wang Ahua, deputy general manager and chief engineer of Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., Wang Wei, deputy general manager and marketing director, director Hao Xianrong, chief planner Dai Desheng, et al. attended the opening ceremony. 

    At the meeting, Jiang Xinhao and Zheng Jinhai jointly unveiled the nameplate of the Technology Research Center for Coastal Ecological Restoration and Protection, and Dai Desheng and Chen Da signed a cooperation agreement. 

    Jiang Xinhao said in his speech that the environmental industry is one of the pillar industries for the construction of ecological civilization. It brings a strong demand for scientific research and technology while vigorously promotes the construction of ecological civilization and stimulates the water ecology and environmental protection market. The water industry is developing towards digitization and intelligence in the big data era. As a firm implementer, pioneer, and leader of the integration of production and education, BEWG and Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. have established the Technology Research Center for Coastal Ecological Restoration and Protection together with Hohai University with the hope to give full play to the resource advantages of BEWG and the scientific research advantages of Hohai University in the field of water conservancy engineering, and make a major breakthrough in the strategic emerging industry of coastal ecological restoration and protection. It not only can reserve excellent water talents for enterprises, give new impetus to business operations, support solid implementation of the “dual platform” strategy of BEWG, more importantly, it will help accelerate the transformation of the industry to “grow out of nothing, then to good” for a wider range, lead dual improvement of corporate capital and university technology to achieve a win-win situation for social benefits and school-running benefits, and practice corporate social responsibility with practical actions for “a better living environment” .

    Zheng Jinhai introduced the development of Hohai University and the National Engineering Research Center for of Water Resources Efficient Utilization and Engineering Safety. He said that  school-enterprise cooperation and industry-university integration are the only way to the development of higher education, and school-enterprise cooperation between Hohai University and Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. plays an important exemplary role. Hohai University will give strong support, and it is expected that both parties can make significant achievements in coastal ecological areas such as coastal ecological shoreline construction, disaster prevention and mitigation projects, soil restoration projects, landscape projects, and vegetation restoration by effectively integrating their advantageous resources in terms of scientific research, transformation of scientific achievements, design and construction, etc.

    Xia Wenlin pointed out at the meeting that the signing and opening ceremony of the Technology Research Center for Coastal Ecological Restoration and Protection started a new journey of cooperation between the two parties. He gave a detailed introduction to the overall situation and development prospects of Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and said that Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. has considerable advantages in design, transformation and application of scientific achievements, and Hohai University has cutting-edge research in river and lake governance, river connection, etc. By establishing the Technology Research Center for Coastal Ecological Restoration and Protection, the two parties aim to explore a new model of industry-university-research cooperation that closely integrates scientific and technological innovation with engineering applications in the field of coastal ecological restoration and protection to achieve rapid transformation of technological innovation achievements in the front line of design and engineering. 

    After the opening ceremony, relevant experts and leaders of the provincial water resources departments, relevant professors of the university, and the heads of relevant departments of BEWG and Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. held a discussion and exchanged views on the research and development of coastal ecology, waterfront, ecological restoration and other technologies and the operation of the Technology Research Center for Coastal Ecological Restoration and Protection. This cooperation has further promoted the diversified development of school-enterprise cooperation of BEWG, which has a milestone significance.
