BEWG debuts at 8th China Water Industry Academicians Forum 2018-04-23
From April 21st to 22nd, the "8th China Water Industry Academicians Forum & Water Ecological Civilization Construction Summit Forum" hosted by "Water & Wastewater Engineering" magazine and Wpg (Shanghai) Smart Water Public Co., Ltd. was held in Shanghai. Focusing on strict protection of water quality safety and drinking water sources, systematically promoting key areas such as water pollution prevention, water ecological protection, and water resources management, water industry academicians, industry leaders, design masters, and well-known experts have gathered together to interpret industry policies at a high level, explore strategies for water governance and make an in-depth analysis of technology development.
Yang Guang, Senior Vice President of BEWG and president of Water Environment Research Institute, Hang Shijun, Chief Consultant and director of technical committee, and Liu Weiyan, director of operations attended the forum, made keynote speeches and participated in the dialogue.
On the opening day of the conference, the 2017 China Water Industry Figure Awards Ceremony was held. Senior Vice President Yang Guang won the 2017 Management and Industry Contribution Award. This represents the industry's unanimous endorsement of the contributions and achievements of BEWG in promoting the development of the water environment industry in recent years.
At the sub-forum themed on “Comprehensive Governance and Sustainable Development of Basin Water Environment”, Yang Guang took the title of “Innovation and Value Realization of Comprehensive Treatment Technology System for Basin Water Environment” and shared his thoughts on water enterprises in the entire industry chain, how to conform to the characteristics of times, profound understanding of new social contradictions, and the realization of three changes in the quality, system, and coordination of water environment governance through technological innovation.
Yang Guang pointed out that comprehensive treatment of the basin's water environment is an inevitable way out for the water and environmental protection enterprises to embrace green mountains and rivers. The systematic integration and application of innovation results are the guarantee of the effectiveness of the river basin governance. The Group fully promotes the implementation of the ‘dual-platform’ strategy, strengthens ten major competence systems including technology, construction, operational management and finance and supports the development of the top ten businesses through the establishment of an asset management platform and operational management platform. In order to form a technical brand value chain for full-period performance service assurance, we will build an ecological community with a common future that is related to the territorial eco-environmental business and all stakeholders. We will use cutting-edge technologies to empower businesses, help the water environment treatment, and create the technological innovation system for river basin water environment treatment to support business development.
Taking the PPP project of the comprehensive improvement of Shaping River Basin in Heshan, Guangdong Province as an example, Yang Guang also systematically elaborated the concept of “six integrations” of BEWG through professional empowerment and strategic investment: integration of water supply and drainage, integration of urban and rural areas, integration of factories and networks, integration of water affairs and water environment, promotion of intelligence and normalization of environmental education to further meet local needs, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. At present, this smart platform has become a demonstration project in Guangdong Province.
In the end, Yang Guang put forward the ecological ideal of BEWG, hoping to build the internal and external ecosystems combining the upstream and downstream industries, implement the strategy of localization on the technical and equity side together with ecological partners, adopt localized measures, and localization management, grow together with the community, and create a better life. “We hope that the environmental protection industry can open up and be inclusive, break the boundaries, reshape the integration, innovate and interconnect, and build an environmental protection ecosystem that drives, nourishes, and wins together, realizing technological value, corporate value, industry value, and social value. Let’s make joint efforts to create clear waters and green mountains.”
At the sub-forum of “Smart Water Construction and Operation”, Liu Weiyan shared her ideas themed on “Building BEWG’s Smart Brain and Cloud's Operational Excellence”. She started with a transformation story of Rolls-Royce, the world’s top aircraft engine manufacturer, and explained in a simple way how traditional industries use big data to build operational excellence and achieve digital transformation; BEWG’s cloud-based “1+N” operational management model and the whole process control system, as well as the practical experience of the digital transformation, such as the Internet of Things system, human-computer collaborative operation and maintenance model, smart expert system, and intelligent control applications.
“BEWG’s digital practice aims to lead and promote the development of the industry. We welcome experts and companies from both inside and outside the industry to create an ecological win-win model.” Liu Weiyan also explained to the participants the win-win planning and model of BEGW in construction of smart water management system, and promotion of the rapid transformation of the traditional water industry. Finally, Liu Weiyan demonstrated the concept version of digital twins for wastewater treatment plants. This is a creative realization of the digital twin concept in the water industry, which has aroused the strong interest and response of the participants.
In the dialogue session of the forum, Yang Guang, Hang Shijun and other guests had a collision of ideas around the theme of “Solutions to Comprehensive Treatment of the River Basin Water Environment” and explored ways and means of deepening water environment governance, promoting ecological civilization in the basin, and contributing to the construction of a beautiful China.
