Investigation into and Survey on Beijing Enterprises Water Group by Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Division of NDRC 2017-09-29

On September 29, 2017, Ren Shuben, Director of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Division of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ren Xianguang, Vice Director of the same division, Zhao Huaiyong, Director of Energy Conservation Section and Yao Mingkuan, Director of Environmental Protection Section came to the headquarters of Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited (“BEWG”) in Beijing to conduct investigation and survey. The accompanying personnel includes Zhou Min, Executive Director & President, Li Li, Executive Director & Executive President, Hang Shijun, consultant chief engineer & director of Technology Commission and Li Dinggao, assistant of presidents of Beijing Enterprise Water Group Limited and Hou Qicai, General Manager of Beijing Enterprises South-South (Tianjin) Investment Management Co., Ltd.

President Zhou Min of BEWG, reported the development situations of municipal water affairs, comprehensive treatment of water environment, environmental sanitation, dangerous waste and clean energy and other business modules and focused on introducing the future development orientation of BEWG to the leaders of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Division of National Development and Reform Commission. He said that BEWG is putting forth into forging the first-rate operation brand and actively building the assets management platform. As the quantity of PPP projects is increasing evidently and the commercial activities are becoming more and more complicated, BEWG is vigorously advocating the ecological strategy, expecting to complete the large-scale environmental treatment projects in collaboration with many excellent enterprises. At the same time, tactically, the operation will turn to the cities and BEWG will strive to provide the cities with comprehensive environmental treatment solutions. Li Li, the executive director of BEWG, mainly reported the technical strength of BEWG. He said that BEWG would view capital, technologies and human resources as the three core powers of enterprise development. At present the comprehensive water environment treatment technologies of BEWG take the leading position at home and BEWG provides the solutions boasting full industry chain and full life cycle. The municipal water affairs mainly cover six links in the industrial chain, i.e. water source, water diversion, water supply, sewage, reclaimed water and sludge. BEWG pays great attention to technical economy and endeavors to meet the high treatment standards with relatively low cost.

At the same time, BEWG is positively making overall arrangement in the industrial water affairs, developing the water business in villages and towns rapidly and bringing in technologies from overseas and conducting exchanges with the overseas countries on technologies.

The leaders of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Division of National Development and Reform Commission recognized the business layout and technical development of BEWG. Director Ren Shuben asks BEWG to pay attention to treatment, upgrading and reconstruction of sewage, select the economic and practical technologies for technological remoulding, and pays attention to the needs

for environment improvement in rural areas. He stressed the systematicness of energy conservation, environmental protection, resource saving and resource recycling and stressed that the efficiency of energy recycling should be further improved according to the requirements for ecological civilization construction, considering the pollution abatement.

Both parties actively discussed on the topics like building the demonstration platform for environmental protection technologies and boosting the investment into the green industry. BEWG showed its determination to vigorously support the relevant measures of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Division of National Development and Reform Commission and positively make contribution to accelerating the healthy and rapid development of environmental protection industry.
